First, a huge thanks to everyone for such wonderful comments, feedback and support after my last post. It’s so nice to know that what I’m experiencing is “normal,” and you all have been so amazing through this process!
So after yesterday’s not-so-uplifting post, I thought I’d go for a positive topic today.. the things (ok fine it’s just the foods) I’m looking forward to post-competition! I think my mom said it well.. I’m not depriving myself at the moment but instead enriching other aspects of myself and my life.
The Fabulousness
But first I must address something I don’t have to look forward too .. the amazingness that was breakfast this morning:
Mocha Oats topped with Strawberries
My trainer added fruit back in to my carb days this week and I’m lovin it! This was just 1/3 c Oats, 2 tbsp Oat Bran, 1 pack Starbucks Via, 1/2 scoop 0-Carb VPX Chocolate Protein Powder, 1/2 c Unsweetened Almond Breeze, 1/4 c water. It was so yummy!
Workin It Out
Nothing exciting to report. I did get in good routine and t-walk practice, which always gets me excited. Then hit shoulders & back. Workin legs with the trainer tomorrow. Hopefully I’ll have more energy than last week with all those good carbs running through me that I ate today! But now on to topic of the day.
The List.. What I’m Looking Forward To
Post-competition I’m mainly looking forward to, no strike that, I’m really really looking forward to VARIETY!!! I thought right now I’d be craving my favorite unhealthy foods, especially mexican food, pizza and pretty much anything with real sugar. But I’ve been pleasantly surprised to find out that although I will certainly indulge in those a bit, what I really crave is natural whole foods in as much variety as possible. I want sweet potatoes grilled up with spices, and sauteed mushrooms and squash and big salads with everything in it! While reading all these lovely healthy living blogs I have developed quite the recipe collection of dishes I’m anxiously waiting to try
