Nourished Fitness

At about 4pm, an hour before the campus health center closes, I decided to suck it up and go to the doctor. Turns out I have the Flu.. bad new bears. The doctor said this is the beginning, it’s going to get worse before it gets better, I’m contagious, and I shouldn’t travel for a week. Gah! Which means I’m not making it home to Seattle for Christmas :( Super bummed..

Most of the day was spent on the couch reading blogs, editing the resume and watching movies. I watched ‘Love Actually’ for the 3rd time, so far, this holiday season. I just never get sick of that movie. The part where she doesn’t get the necklace with the Jodi Mitchel song, and of course the ‘wasted heart’ scene get me every time!

We did a ‘Roommates’ Christmas’ tonight. My roommate was so sweet, knowing how much I love Whole Foods, she picked up dinner from the hot bar for the 3 of us, we exchanged gifts and watched ‘The Emperor’s New Groove’ and ‘Julie & Julia.’ And guess what they gave me?! .. the Mercedes of Snuggies.. seriously, I’ll have to get a pic of me wrapped up in this device (it even came with directions). It’s like a sleeping bag with arm & feet holes, basically, it’s awesome. I’m blogging while curled up in it at this very moment.

The problem with writing a Fitness & Nutrition/Food blog is that there’s not much material when you’re justing lounging around and not working out or eating..  I snacked here and there throughout the day when I had flashes of feeling decent, but nothing picture worthy. My time on the couch gives me lots of time to reflect on this past year, and contemplate 2010 plans and goals. I’ve so enjoyed following other bloggers’ monthly/yearly goals & check-ins, so I look forward to being more organized with mine; so look out for that coming soon! As you may have picked up on, I’m the type that loves being busy and active, so this couch-bound thing is killing me with boredom. Though putting a positive spin on it, I really do have no excuse not to spend my day scouring the internet for the perfect job :)

Next to ‘Love Actually’ the original Grinch is my favorite Christmas movie! We always always watch it on Christmas Eve while enjoying a candy cane and hot cocoa. So I totally got a kick out of Joanna’s recent post What I Learned from the Grinch.

I would also like to give my ‘yeah no kidding’ award of the day to this article: Your Diet May Be Depressing You

Love this quote I saw on Katie’s Adventures –> “Don’t be willing to accept an ordinary life”

I need your suggestions! What are your favorite sick movies and meals?
