Merry Christmas all! Hope everyone is having a wonderful day
I arrived safely in Seattle, and so far am having a great and relaxing time. Seriously, traveling Christmas Eve is the way to go. Neither airport was crowded at all and the plane wasn’t even full. As soon as I walked in the door at my parents house they tried to start feeding me! They are however very supportive of my nutrition preferences, and eat very healthy themselves, so keeping my diet clean & fresh while I’m here is no problem.
For example, dinner was roasted chicken breast, edamame, stuffing (x2, my mom’s vegetarian version, and dad’s), and delicata squash.
Deck the Halls
My Nutcracker collection
I get a new one every year..
Presents!
So I think you’ll see a bit of theme to my gifts
I’ve had that stocking for as long as I can remember..
Zoom ins on a few of the goodies..
In my stocking I got a Whole Foods gift card (naturally I joked that it may as well be thrown out because ‘that’ll never get used’ haha righhhttt) and this fantastic bracelet from Lift Your Soles (thanks Joanna for the referral!). It’s a hand-stamped cuff that reads “Courage to start, Strength to endure, Resolve to finish.”
I also unwrapped a ‘fit book’ and what I like to think of as a Fitness-themed Nutcracker, in other words he’s pimped out in sequins! There were also a few sweet treats.. and yes it is ironic that I have the Peeps, Candy Cane and Candy Coins cozied up next to all the “healthy” items.. balance right? :p
I should have thought to lay the top & bottom out separately, but my Mom gave me an outfit for Yoga.
FITNESS - You go outside in this weather?
My mission today is to go for a run.. not going to lie, I’m scared of the cold, haha, but I guess that gives me even more reason to get my butt moving! Ok, and it’s only like 45 F, which is nothing compared to the east coast and mid-west right now, but I am not embarrassed to admit what a wuss I’ve become! Though to be fair, I really don’t have the right gear.. if I end up back on the east coast I’m going to need take out a loan to stock up on cold weather fitness attire :p
NUTRITION - CHRISTMAS VERSION
Before presents I enjoyed Coffee with Silk Nog.. delicious.. followed later with another cup with a peppermint stick in it. Ok fine.. I’m now on my 3rd cup. I blame being in Seattle, it brings out the extreme coffee drinker in me
What says Christmas morning like a big bowl of Pumpkin Oats?! haha, ok ok, it’s the same as 1/2 my other days, but this really was a fantastic bowl, and it was a little extra special because the oats were organic and the pumpkin wasn’t just canned, it was really sweet pumpkin my mom had leftover. And there’s a Christmas tablecloth.. it’s so Christmas Oats :p
Ok, I’m off to make one last batch of cookies, Russian Tea Cakes to be exact, along with Christmas Hummus, and Kabocha.
Wishing you all an absolutely wonderful Christmas day .. and/or just-another-Friday depending on your inclinations
Pumpkin oatmeal for Christmas must be a theme – I made that for my husband and myself this morning. Just seemed appropriate. Merry Christmas.
I had pumpkin waffles for breakfast.
I love the stuff at Lift Your Sole – I’m going to get some of their 13.1/triathlon jewelry. Thanks for sharing it!
Welcome to Seattle! I am so happy it stayed sunny! Last year we had 2 feet – crazy!
Merry Christmas!
oh my goodness your family is so healthy!! the roasted squash looks fantastic
yay for whole foods gift card!
merry christmas
The food as always looks so yummy! Your family looks like they are good & healthy cooks!
What exactly is a fit book? A fitness log/journal?
I also love the sequined nutcracker. Very pretty!
Glad you got to go home for Christmas! Hope you are enjoying your time with your family!
Thanks! It was a great day, even if I did eat too much (shocking I know! haha). Yup, FitBook is a super cute workout log, which I’m in desperate need of. I’ll have to post a pic of the home-decorated one I’ve been using for years
