My dinner & movie plans ended up getting postponed, but oh well, positive side is it gave me a little extra relax and get work done around the house time. Pretty quick post tonight because I’m hoping to crash early, I don’t know why but I totally hit a wall this evening..
FITNESS
Check-In
Yup it was Wednesday measurement day.. So, good news.. This week my body fat went down (yay! I’m between 11 & 11.25% right now) but my weight actually went up a tad. Really this is exactly what I want, more lean muscle! It felt good to know my hard work over the last few weeks has been paying off, but it’s still a little strange to work like crazy and not loose weight. It just takes adjusting to after years of aiming the other direction. I wasn’t surprised I didn’t loose this week because I’m doing my best to stick to eating intuitively and last week my appetite shot way up as a result of my good workouts. Instead of depriving myself to force myself to loose weight, I added a bit more protein & fat to keep up with my metabolism. The result: what I’ve been aiming to do all along. It’s so funny how that works out
I just keep repeating to myself: “It’s body fat % that matters, not the scale. It’s body fat % that matters, not the scale. It’s body fat % that matters, not the scale.” .. over & over. Fake it till you make it right? :p
Tomorrow’s a cardio-only day. Think I’m going to aim for morning Spin.. I’ll letcha know
NUTRITION
Breakfast this morning was a fail. I was looking forward to having pumpkin-something-or-other, and went with overnight oats that had been in the fridge for a couple days. Unfortunately, since the organic Pumpkin is thinner than Libby’s, when I mixed it in, it turned the Oats into a soup-like dish. It still tasted ok, but the consistency was a turnoff and was not very filling. The “drizzle” of Naturally More didn’t turn out so good either. Ah well, I’ll get it tomorrow.
I snacked on a Protein Pancake while running from PT to my trainer’s. Then enjoyed this awesome mix during a team meeting: Quinoa + Edamame + Chickpeas + Sun-dried Tomatoes + grilled Chicken Breast..
I was so ready for another snack when I got home, and to met my recent Frappuccino craving with this satisfying Protein Shake:
Mocha Avocado Protein Shake
1 scoop Nectar Capaccino flavor
1 tsp Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
Xantham Gum
1/2 frozen Avocado (in cubes)
3/4 c UVAB
Ice
This turned out rich & delicious. I topped with 2 tbsp Not Sweet Vanilla from Galaxy..
Dinner was nothing fancy, but delicious. Wild Sockeye Salmon served with Kale Chips topped with Humnut Sauce (2 tbsp Hummus + 1 tbsp Nutritional Yeast + 2 tbsp H20)..
I also whipped up April’s Low-Carb Protein Bars for the first time, and tried a couple nipples (yum). Other snacks of the day included Raw Protein Bars and Almonds.
FUN
Perhaps Killer thought he needed a good washing..
Ok, I’m sending myself to bed. My body’s aching, in a good worked-hard sort of way, but it’s time for a good rest. Night
Fitness: Sounds like a good day! Congrats on your low BF% and increase in lean muscle. Amazing work!!
Nutrition: The snack with edamame looks great, and so does the salmon with kale chips! Never attempted those before, I oughtta make them sometime…
Kitty: Killer is so cute! I adore cats…
Have a great night~~
I just posted 10 recipes using nooch! if you like the humnut, I have some winners! well, in my not so humble opinion LOL
I would love to talk shop w/ you someday about “your world”, i.e. the gym and training and percentages and I can talk mine (yoga om shanti baby!) with you:)
LMK bout Tues/Thurs and if not, no worries girl, we’re all busy!
You should be proud of that BF% despite the weight
Killer LOL!
That is so awesome, it’s so hard to put on lean muscle and lose body fat at the same time. You are doing great!
Oh my goodness, can’t believe your cat fits into a dishwasher. Our cat is waay too big to fit in there, plus I think he would definitely break the door if he even tried (our friends sometimes mistake him for a little dog). Cute picture of Killer!
Awesome body fat!! I keep repeating that mantra too. I’m hoping it’ll get wired in my brain! LOL
No pics of the bars??? LOL. Way to go on the body fat loss. I really need to try the Hummut.
Measurements….I haven’t taken measurements in ages…that’s a problem!!! Maybe next week
It’s SOOOO hard for me to accept a few lbs gained in the form of muscle. But I also don’t know what my body fat % is so it’s hard to justify to myself. I mean I see the muscle but….
Anyway that chicken/edamame mix looks so pretty! I agree, I want to hear how your protein bars turned out!
GREAT job w. your results girlfrand!!! ahh yeah i do NOT like organic pumpkin-prob the only organic thing i dont like at ALL!
Congrats! It is hard to take your mind off that scale for sure. I had to do that when I first began my weight lifting journey. When I was young & lifting heavier, it was very hard BUT you are right, body fat down & sometiems that scale goes up. It is all about results & muscle & how the clothes fit.
Giving you some link love tomorrow!
