Xtend Giveaway + Discount!

Hi all! It’s been craziness in my life the last couple days. Just trying to juggle the last few projects of my MBA program, IIN coursework, new job, workouts and looking for a new place to live. But I have something to make up for my lameness.. A GIVEAWAY and Nourished Fitness OpenSky DISCOUNT!

As you probably know by now, OpenSky is a space where bloggers can sell products that they really like. Well, the folks at OpenSky were kind enough to sponsor a Giveaway, and I’m super excited to present..

I’ve talked about BCAAs a couple times recently and mentioned the Scivation Xtend product. I love this stuff because it tastes great, just add to plain H20, which makes it really easy to get in your fill of BCAAs. So through my OpenSky Store I’m giving away a carton of Scivation Xtend (a value of over $30) and anyone who enters gets 10% off coupon!

They have a ton of different flavors. My personal favorite is Lemonade, but I also really like Watermelon and recently heard great reviews about Apple. Have you tried any of the other flavors? Which are your favorites?

Oh, and the 10% off coupon expires one week from today, so hopefully you can take advantage!

WEEKEND RECAP – PART 2

BioFeedback

Sunday Funday.. healthy living and alternative medicine style :p My mom’s friend does Electro Physiological Feedback Treatments, a form of Energy medicine, and since she was staying at my parent’s house for the night, she agreed to give me a treatment. I know very little about this process, but I’m open minded to trying all sorts of alternative health treatments, and she thought she could help me determine the cause of the digestive problems I’ve been having lately.

So here I am all hooked up..

To be honest, I still don’t really understand what this machine does (so if you do, please shoot me an email), and didn’t feel any different after. Regardless,  it was an interesting process and I’m glad I did it for the experience, and to be able to tell my future clients about it if they ask. I think normal treatments are pretty expensive, and it isn’t something I’d pay for again. If this is something you practice, have had or you just know about please shoot me an email at nourishediftness@gmail.com, and I’d love to hear your thoughts!

VegFest

After that I headed to Seattle Center’s Exhibition Hall for Seattle’s VegFest. Basically this event was just a big gathering of table after table of Vegetarian & Vegan food vendors with sample after sample. I was so glad I came hungry, because boy did I have my fill of all the wonderful foods. I started out trying to take pictures of everything I tried, but that quickly failed as it got more crowded.

My favorite booth, of course, was that dedicated to Vegetarian Protein Powders!

I talked to the people at this booth for a while. One of the guys is actually a Vegan Bodybuilder who competed in a show in Phoenix last year. And wow, they seriously hooked me up! I love Vega’s products, as you know, but I’ve never tried their ‘Sport’ line. I ended up buying the ‘Vanilla Sport’ flavor along with Vanilla Sun Warrior. They also gave me samples of the other Sport flavors, so I’ll definitely be reporting about back with my review of those. Although I’ve only tried a little sample so far, the main difference between the sport and regular line is that the sport line has more protein and less carbs (perfect!). I’ll be starting to diet down really soon, and I think the part I dislike most about the whole process is the amount of chemicals I end up consuming in the form of fake sugar, and calorie-free products. I think ‘Frankenfoods’ is the coined term, which is totally appropriate. Any who, anything I can do to reduce the number of chemicals the better, and I’m really going to do my best to reduce the amount of sugar-free flavoring products I use this time around.

I also tried..

Sweets:

Remember this stuff..

Bloggy classics..

Savory..

That’s it for now!

I’ll be back tomorrow or Thursday with a “back to normal” post! In the mean time, sign up for the Giveaway and get a 10% discount!

That VegFest looks amazing. I would have spent so much money there! :-) Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on those protein powders. I am trying to cut down on the processed stuff I put into my body and am curious about the taste and benefits of those powders.
Good luck with all of your projects!

  5. Vegfest looks awesome!! I would have been broke!

  6. I am soooo jealous of the Vegfest. How fun!

  7. NICE!! i went to the boston veg food fest in boston a few months ago and it was so awesome! they had the sammmme ssamples there!

  8. WAY jealous of your vegfest time. I. LOVE. EXPOS!! There was a sick vegfest out in Boston when I lived there last year… but I’m not sure Minneapolis has anything like that! We had a healthy living expo back in the winter that was pretty nice… but looking at your photos, it doesn’t compare ;)

  9. OK, after all those pics, I am headed for a mini meal! :-)

I hope to win this giveaway! I shoudl be taking BCAAs but I only have so much $$ & my protein powder & food come first! :-)

    That veg fest looked cool!

  10. oh dang I love those booths where I learn stuff…and um get free samples!! Wanted to make sure you know i’ve got a fun giveaway going too http://runtothefinish.blogspot.com/2010/04/3-changes-challenge-prizes.html .. now I”m off to enter yours!

  11. Can i just say that where you were was a vegan wet dream! (pardon my french but my jaw is on the floor!) WOW!!!!! I am so jealz girl!

Sun warrior, vega (not a huge fan of their powders but their recovery or sport line as they call it is good) and also the Tempt. Scott prefers that ice cream to full fat real dairy. I am not an ice cream girl but he loves it. I won some, could never afford to stock it reg or anything.

The machine. I believe it runs current thru you and that if there’s a “blockage” of current, the machine knows and that corresponds with the issue. I had it done maybe 5 yrs ago by my naturopath before child when i could afford those very pricey “new age” type things…And for me, didnt really tell too much either. Food trial and error, gold standard.

What’s your sched look like next week or even the week of the 26th?
    xo

  12. katie says:
