Can I Make it Up to You?

Hi all :) I know I’ve been super sporadic with posts lately.. so can I make it up to you? There is clearly only one option.. a giveaway! :)

The generous people at  Tropical Traditions, offered to let me giveaway a jar of their Coconut Peanut Butter! They sent me a jar to sample a while back and it was delicious (even if I had a little AZ heat problems with it). Just the other day I was checking out their Recipe Collection for ideas to use Coconut Flour. In order to enter, and enjoy rich coconuty peanut buttery deliciousness you can get entries by doing one or all of the following. Please leave a separate comment for each entry:

The Giveaway will be open through the weekend, and I’ll select a random winner first thing Monday morning!

OpenSky Additions

So you know  have an OpenSky shop, but I’ve been a bit of a slacker about promoting it. I love the idea behind the OpenSky concept, and whenever I click around the many shops on the site I always find cool things recommended by other bloggers. I actually was one of the early shopkeepers, and at first it was a little frustrating with regards to getting the products I wanted, but since I’ve been so busy with school and YNL the last couple months, OpenSky has really grown and are adding all sorts of wonderful features that are beneficial to both shopkeepers getting items they want in store, and for shoppers to stay connected, get discounts and make recommendations and give feedback.

So first, I have a couple new items in my shop now, and a few more that should be up within the week!

Now in:

  • Nutritional Yeast: Yay, I was so glad to get this. I know some people who live in smaller towns have had trouble finding this. So now, no worries! I talk a bit about the benefits of Nutritional Yeast here, and my favorite use of it is for Humnut Sauce (2 parts Hummus + 1 part Nutritional Yeast + H20 to think) to use as a cheese substitute on pizza, toast, or nachos (drizzled over Kale Chips = awesome)!
  • VPX Zero-Carb Protein Powder in Graham Cracker Flavor: I was so happy to get this product in. As you know I do pretty low-carb diets sometimes, and this product makes it so much easier. I tend to invest in Protein Powders that I can use for all sorts of things, and this is great for Shakes, Pancakes and mixed in with plain Greek Yogurt!
  • Nuttzo (the PB-free variety): I raved about this before, and was so happy to find that they now make a peanut free variety! Even though PB is great, I actually prefer other nut butters.
  • 2 different place setting designs from Ink Dish: Tribal Lines and Cherry Ink .. So yes I’m a Fitness & Nutrition blog, but you gotta eat all that nutritious food on something right?! I fell in love with both of these lines as soon as I saw them, and frankly, I can’t decide which I personally want to get first!

You probably also notice the bar at the bottom of the page. If you sign-up you’ll receive a discount on a select product, and be the first to know about updates to the shop and sales going on!

The Usual..

My usual planned out schedule of school, workouts and work has gone out the window the last week. And I have to say, even the control freak in me has to admit it’s been kind of nice. I’ve just been enjoying time with friends, working out (but not on a set schedule), and working a lot on stuff for YNL.

Oh, and did I ever tell you guys that I’m moving?! Just into a new apartment, but it’s the first time I’ll be living on my own (well with Killer too of course). That’s happening in a littler over a week, so I’m going through kitchen-clean-out right now.. so expect random food pairings and lots of protein powder (since I have so many darn tubs of if) in the near future.

And even though I’m suppose to be clearing out the cupboards, a couple new obsessions items have found there way onto my plate recently:

Pure & Simple, Organic Hot Cereal from BetterOats

This stuff is tasty and crazy convenient. You can actually measure the water in the packets, and it comes out perfectly in the microwave. I also love that it’s a mix of Oats, Barley, Quinoa, Rye & Wheat!

BetterOats also makes all sorts of other varieties and flavors..

But I usually opt for the plain & basic because it’s always lowest in sugar, then just had my own natural sweeteners and other additions..

Breakfast this morning was a packet of that topped with Greek Yogurt mixed with ~1/4 scoop Vega Vanilla Chai..

FitNutz

I’d of course seen PB2 and FitNutz floating around Blog World and have been curious to try for ages. Since PB2 is having serious order-placement issues, I finally tried FitNutz and OMG, SO glad I did! I ordered the Sugar-Free Chunky, Regular Creamy and a sampler pack.

I had to go through my various new product testing methods. First, is it good on it’s own?.. yes! I mixed 1 tbsp of the SF Chunky with ~1/2 tbsp H20, and really liked it..

Later on, a sampler packet (Regular Creamy) went in with a container of plain Greek Yogurt and a dash of Stevia.. and I’ve fallen in lust :)

The rest of today is dedicated to me getting my butt to the gym, working more on YNL stuff and deciding what to make for tomorrow’s big end of the school year pool party!

Have you discovered any new obsessions lately? Big weekend plans?
