I Scream, You Scream

Wow, this week seriously flew by! I’m sending myself to bed early tonight, so lets get to it..

FITNESS

I started the day of working Shoulders & Back with my trainer. Nothing crazy to report there. But this weekend he’s having a Glute Camp workout for people interested in competing.. should be a great workout! From there I headed to checkout a new potential gym, and holy crap… this thing was ridiculous! It totally reminded me of Ben Stiller’s gym in Dodge Ball. They had everything including an impressive cafe, hair salon, spa, huge rock climbing area, multiple pools, etc. Frankly, I probably would never use most of those crazy services, but am instead won over by good classes. So I’m doing a 14-day trial to try out as many classes as possible. Updates to follow!

Yoga Flow class tonight was amazing. I don’t really know how else to describe it. I also did a new combination I’d never done before, so I was super excited. I left the class after 90 min. completely soaked. Beautiful :)

NUTRITION

Pre-worked I just had a quick Mocha Protein Shake (1 scoop Rocky Road Protein Powder + 1/2 c UVAB + 1/2 c Iced Coffee + Ice).

But after workout I whipped up a new item for me.. a Frittata! I actually think I’ve never managed to make one of these before, but they’ll be making many more appearances. I mixed up 3/4 c Egg Whites + 1 oz Baby Spinach + diced Tomatoes + 1 tbsp Nutritional Yeast and cooked that stove top, only flipping at the very ended to finish it off. I topped that with ~1.5 tbsp Hummus and 3 oz Lox.. so good!

Check out those veggies..

Afternoon snack was a Cherry Protein Green Monster (1 scoop Vanilla Sport Vega + 1/2 c TJ’s frozen Cherry Mix + 3/4 c UVAB + Ice)..

Dinner was quick & easy. So easy, that I didn’t even bother to take it out of the mixing dish. Simply Baby Spinach + 4 oz Chicken Breast + 1/2 Avocado + a couple Grape Tomatoes..

I Scream, You Scream

I recently inherited my parent’s old Ice Cream Maker.. oh the possibilities! Tonight I gave it my first shot, and of course made Protein Ice Cream. This was pretty good, but I know I can make it even better. I mixed together 2 c UVAB + 2 scoops Vanilla Protein Powder + 3 tbsp SF White Chocolate Syrup. It went into the Ice Cream Maker for ~20 min., and near the end I mixed in 2 tbsp Reduced Fat Unsweetened Shredded Coconut.

Topped with a little Calorie-Free Chocolate Syrup..

Have you tried any new recipes lately? Do tell!

  1. not doing glute camp b/c i will be um…packing. fun.

the gym. I am looking for a place like that in san diego in my new ‘hood.. I know a few like that but they are 30+ mins away. Sigh. I would like to workout in the Four Seasons, not the trailer park, i.e. 24 Hr Fitness that’s in my n’hood which is a nasty one!

LMK how the new gym and glute camp goes. And more pics on sat. Thx for what you said :)

Was it a Lifetime gym?? Because it sounds a lot like the gym I go to and I know they have them all over the country. I have been a member since last July. My mom took me on a guest past for a day and we stayed literally from 9-5 doing classes, laying by the pool, etc. So fun.

  5. Cool on the ice cream maker. I miss ice cream…. Yum on the frittata. I am not a big egg person, but I do like frittatas. Maybe b/c they aren’t runny.

I love frittatas! They are my newest kick for weekends or when Dan isn’t around!

I fell in love with something new last night for a snack/dessert. A sweet egg white omelet, covered with smooth and slightly blended cottage cheese, topped with some blueberries! It was almost sinful and it looked gorgeous!

  7. Haha that sounds like Lifetime Fitness to me. Sometimes I cringe when I think about how much I put into my monthly gym membership, but then again I pretty much NEVER “shop” .. unless we’re talking groceries. ;) Priorities I guess…. ::siiigh::

That fritatta looks AMAZING. I have never tried lox – I just started eating meat again after being a veg[etari]an for 8 years – but maybe I should get on that. :)

    Have a great day!

  8. i just made the Fitnessista’s protein panckes and in love! they were so easy to make and so tasty and thick! loved them!! I also want to make kabocha pancakes next!!!

obsesssed with lox! growing up in a jewish home…we always had it around!

That ice cream looks great! I got an ice cream maker for easter one year, and still haven’t figured out how to make healthy ice cream. Looks like i’ve got some experimenting to do!

  10. Stephanie says:

I’ve made the ice cream with unsweetened coconut milk, too. No carbs/protein from the milk, just MCT fat and the protein that you add…yum!!

See you tomorrow at Glute Camp!

  11. katie says:

WOW girl i need to get an ice cream maker!! are they not too expensive?

  12. TJ’s has a frozen cherry mix…. what??? I have not seen that.. what is it? I miss my frozen cherries from there. Mine does not have them anymore. Is it mixed fruit.. if yes, I saw that but I only want the cherries! :-)

Man, the food looks great! AND, glute workout.. I always need that!

  13. Brandy Craddock says:

Running into kitchen right NOW to make that Fritatta….OMG! That looks fantastic!
