Another Monday’s behind us!
I should have posted this review a while ago, but with graduating & moving craziness.. ok, that’s just an excuse. The thing is, these were SO darn good, they deserve raving about!
The lovely people at Attune contacted me about reviewing their Chocolate Probiotic Bars. They sent me 3 flavors to sample: Dark Chocolate, Mint Chocolate, Almond Chocolate. And WOW. These taste like regular, high quality (yeah, not Hershey style) chocolate. They recommend only having one per day. Each bar has 90 calories and 5x the live active cultures than in a serving of yogurt. As I was catching up on my Reader, I saw that Julie over at Julie Go Lean also reviewed these recently and has equally fantastic things to say about them!
So why should you making sure you’re getting probiotics? Probiotics are live active cultures, i.e. live bacteria microorganisms, that aid in keeping the digestive system working as it should, and preventing/treating conditions ranging from yeast infections an dCrohn’s to diarrhea and IBS.
FITNESS
It was a double yoga sorta day
This morning I went with a few friends to their first yoga class! We went to the beginner class, which I hadn’t been to since my very first class, and I think it was good for me to slow it down a bit and focus on form. And I was sooo happy that all my friends enjoyed the class, and are planning on going again later this week. However, I was still craving my usual Flow class, so I hit that up this evening. Like with cardio training, and dieting down, it’s so addicting once I start seeing changes, and lately I’ve really started to see improvements in my practice, and I can’t get enough! But not too much has changed, looking forward to a tough upper body workout with my trainer first thing in the morning!
NUTRITION
It was a weird food day. I just wasn’t hungry before yoga this morning, so first meal was lunch. After yoga, we went to Pita Jungle. I’d heard great things about this restaurant, and it completely lived up to expectations. I got the Mahi Mahi with Hummus and Pita Chips..
Mid-day I snacked on a Low-Carb Frappuccino and a couple ounces of Chicken Breast.
Lately, my appetite’s just been so strange. I of course eventually get hungry, but it’s rare for something to really sound great. So I’ve just been going with it. Case & point, after yoga tonight, the only thing I was in the mood for was a Protein Green Monster. This beauty had 1 c UVAB + 3/4 c frozen TJ’s Cherry Mix + 1 scoop Vanilla Vega Sport + Ice + Xanthan Gum, topped with 2 tbsp of the new Galaxy Granola flavor Maple Pecan Quinoa (the other new flavor is ‘Hint of Honey,’ which I love!)..
I actually felt hungrier after drinking that, so I had a little Baked Tofu with Babaganoush.. not a very pretty picture.. apologies..
Dessert.. what can I say, I’m a little obsessed right now.. Lite PB Protein Ice Cream topped with Raw Cacao Powder..
FUN
I don’t think I mentioned it yet, but I’m going to Vegas this weekend for one of my oldest friend’s Bachelorette Party. We’ve known each other since we were 2 yo and grew up across the street from each other. It should be a good crazy time.. in other words.. I think shopping is on the agenda the next couple days!

My husband will be in Vegas this weekend too, for the UFC Fan Expo/UFC 114, there are going to be a lot of sports nutrition vendors at the expo, I hope he brings home a lot of samples! Have a great trip

Thanks for the review on those bars. It's always nice to hear what other people think about a product. I have times like you when I'm not quite hungry like I think I should be – until I have a bite or drink of something then I am suddenly starved.
I love that you listened to your hunger and didn't have a first meal immediately just out of habit!

I love to bring new people to yoga. I think it's the most amazing exercise for your body and mind, and I try to convert everyone to practice it!
