Switching It

Hi :) Pretty quick post tonight.. it’s getting late and I still have a ton of things to check of my to-do list..

FITNESS

Leg day and Steady State Cardio

Weights: Wide Squats, Front Squats, Laying Single Leg Hamstring Curls, Seated Hamstring Curls, Leg Press, Glute Press, Glute Kickbacks, Leg Extensions

Cardio: SS Treadmill ADD Style

5 min. Warmup Walk at 4.0

20 min. Run increasing from 6.0-8.0

20 min. at 10% Incline and 3.2, rotating every 30 s (side, back, side, front)

Today wasn’t the easiest. I haven’t been sleeping well, and just felt tired & drained a lot of the day. But a ‘blah’-attitude, won’t get you anywhere, so  a little positive thinking was in order..

Instead of thinking ‘I’m hungry’.. I’m switching it to ‘thank you metabolism for reminding me that you’re working so well’

Instead of ‘I’m tired’.. I’m switching it to ‘I’m working hard.. and am thankful to be healthy & able to push myself’

It’s funny what even the slightest change of thought & perspective can do for your attitude. :)

*Note for new readers: I’m getting ready to compete in a Fitness/Figure competition.. otherwise with the ‘I’m hungry’ feeling.. I’d just go eat! :) Didn’t want anyone to get the wrong idea.

NUTRITION

Breakfast was a Protein Pancake & Egg White Puff (1/4 c Egg Whites + Capella Drops + Cinnamon)..

Although it is a short & sweet post, I love it! I definitely think our attitude can make or break us. Instead of telling myself that I "HAVE" to go to work today, I always remind myself that it is a privilege and I should be grateful that I have a job and get to do what I love. :) I also read an article the other day about trying to make burdensome tasks (i.e. cleaning house, doing laundry, etc) into more enjoyable tasks. I'm still working on telling myself that I I should be happy that I have the opportunity to wash dishes… :-D

And yummy looking meals as always! :)

omg! i just got inspired by your coconut protein cookie and made my own using chocolate fudge protein powder, almond butter and almond brreze for dessert! it's like a chocolate fudge almond cookie! I doubled your recpie and made 4 small balls and flatened them up before popping them in the microwave! thanks for my tonight's dessert inspiration! :-)

That's a GREAT attitude to have and say to yourself. I do the same thing :)

I can do a stepmill but would fall flat on my face switching front, side, back, side LOL!

Just to start – I love your blog & your absolute dedication to fitness!

If you like poached eggs, one thing I've been doing is nuking a portobella until soft then topping it with a poached egg. It's almost like eggs on toast. And I know it sounds gross but it's totally not – I'll sprinkle just a little splenda over the porto and then sprinkle a little salt over the egg. The end combo is meaty (porto), sweet, fatty, and salty. Absolutely delicious!!!

I love it! I go through phases with portobellas and last summer had a portobella with some sort of fish, cottage cheese & salsa almost every night for dinner.. but I'm loving this combo.. going to try it for sure, thanks!
