Check-In Deja Vu

On to it..

FITNESS

So today was check-in. Like I mentioned yesterday, I was a little nervous because I really didn’t feel like, and it didn’t look like, I made much progress this week. With the increased Carbs, I noticed that I looked “fuller” and was just feel bloated all well. Well as it turns out, it was a little more of the same.. my body fat % went down (yay), weight didn’t budge (boo). I’m thankful for the positive changes, but gah, it’s frustrating. It’s great for me to be holding onto muscle, but I have to get rid of some of the weight in order for judges to see that muscle when I’m on stage. So more nutrition adjustments are being made..

Weights: Arms & Shoulders & Abs .. Chin-Ups, Tricep Push-Ups, Bench Dips, Bench Plank Toe Touches, Inclined DB Curls, Pulley Curls, Tricep Pressdowns, Lat Raises, Reverse Delts, Front Raises, Incline Crushes

Cardio: 60 min. Spin

NUTRITION

The latest shipment of MGN Cake Batter is back to it’s normal formula.. yay! And it reacted much differently in the waffle maker .. :p

But still tasted great :)

Protein Waffle topped with 1 single serving packet of Justin’s Natural Almond Butter, and WF 0-cal Maple Syrup..

A Diet Spinach Bar with a Turkey Burger and Fake Queso (1 tbsp WF Onion Dip + 2 tbsp Salsa)..

For an afternoon snack, I went with the usual Slimmed Down PB Protein Ice Cream..

For dinner I ended up going to one of my favorite restaurants, Green, for dinner with a friend. Their vegan pizza are unbelieveable.. and I drooled over the BBQ version my friend got. I stuck with a plain salad with mock chicken. It tasted good and all, but half of it was these crispy chip things, which I wasn’t able to eat, so it wasn’t too filling.. I had ~3 oz of Chicken Breast approximately 45 seconds after walking in my front door :p

Desert was Nutella Protein Almond Milk Ice Cream (used 1 tbsp Unsweetend Special Dark Cocoa and 2 tbsp Sugar-Free Hazelnut Syrup) and a Protein cookie of course..


FUN

Big weekend coming up! I’m heading to Vegas Friday morning to watch NPC USA’s and go to the Muscle & Fitness HERS Camp.

I’m bringing all my food with me, but since I’m staying in a condo with a few friends who are competing, I’ll have a full kitchen too, which rocks! When I was in Vegas for Fitness America last November I had to just keep refilling my cooler with Ice.. not the best system, haha.

I’m really excited for the camp too! I think there will be a lot of girls, and I’m just looking forward to meeting people and getting to learn from such amazing competitors, judges & indjustry experts.

Pheww.. I still have a project to finish up tonight.. so off I go..

    congrats on losing body fat! the rest will fall into place!

    ok so that vegas camp…omg that's a major score!! it's free?!! And it's with Kim Uddo….I contacted his office as he's only about 1 hr north of me to train with him and basically unless you want to pay a grand and want an 8 week major overhaul, he wont talk to you. It's all or nothing, no "drop ins" per se. I would love a scott keppel out here…but Kim aint my guy since I dont need/want to be "overhauled" and transformed, i just want a stellar trainer but he's black and white that way which hey, his rules i get it. But suffice to say, that's awesome you get to partake…for free!

    I am highly impressed by that protein almond milk ice cream. I just bought a vitamix to make almond milk. I'm definitely going to try that.

    Can i just tell you I LOVE your blog. I look forward to reading it every day. You really help me stay on track. I think it is GREAT that you have not lost any muscle, so what if you have not lost any weight. When you lose the water before the competition, your muscles are going to show through. No question. I get my cake batter protien this week. Whooo hoo, Can't wait to try it. I also love your meal ideas. They really help me try to figure out what to eat while still having taste! Ha Ha.

    love the "nutella" idea! Have you tried hazelnut milk? its also low carb but more expensive. Dont worry about the weight, remember, muscle weighs more than fat! lately, ive been using crystal light in the waffle mix too! :)

    mmmmm that protein ice cream bowl looks SO SO SO good! I really need to try the protein waffle thang…my BF has a waffle maker and I don't knwo why i have never tried using it!! glad you sweated your butt off in spin!!! weight hasnt budged maybe because you are gaining muscle?!?! your body fat is down which is awesome though!!! keep working it!

    What ever happened to the idea of having fridges in hotel rooms…ones with at least a bit of room to put your own food in and not electronically monitored bar fridge? Great you have a kitchen and you will be of huge help to your competing girlfriends with the food prep. Have a blast!

    Just got some of the MGN cake batter protein, so glad you blogged about it because the price is amazing and it doesn't have sucralose. Love it! I got some other flavors and they are kind of sandy. I'll wait a while before re-ordering those, hopefully the formulas will be restocked with better product.

    I LOVE cake batter protein powder!! Where are you ordering it from Alyson? Every time I try to order it it's back ordered or out of stock (muscleandstrength.com or bodybuilding.com) :( . You make me want a waffle maker too! And Monica, I want a vitamix soooo bad, but can't justify the $$. I'm sure you'll love it :) Have a great weekend all!
