Break

Hi all! Hope you had a wonderful weekend!

Things have been crazy. The best I can describe it is that I feel like I flailing to keep my head above water and spreading myself thin. Between working on building my company and working with clients, working at the restaurant, studying for IIN, studying for the CPT exam, trying to fit in workouts and blogging.. I feel like I’m not able to give optimal effort to everything… and I hate that. I hate when I feel like I’m not giving my best to something.

I’m sure you’ve noticed the brevity of my blog posts of late. Now that I’m not planning to compete I feel a bit lost with blogging. There are so many “healthy living” blogs out there.. what really makes mine any different? Each day I do my best to workout and eat healthy.. just like a million other people and thousands who blog about it. I often don’t have a lot to say on a particular day, or time to sit down and write something sincere. I love blogging but I think I may end up changing the “format” (of sorts) by merging it more with Your Nourished Life and expand topics to discuss a greater variety of balanced health topics (i.e. aspects of mindful eating, how relationships play in, mind-body connections.. things like that), not just my daily workouts and meals. What do you all think?

Thursday I’m heading to Seattle for my oldest friend’s wedding..

Us back in the day..

(I feel like this photo is how we would react today if someone asked.. ‘whose getting married?’ .. She enthusiastically raises both arms and I give a ‘damned if I know’ shrug ;-))

So I’m going to take the week off blogging to get everything settled and just relax while I’m up north!

<3 you all!!

Hey Alyson! I think it's great you're going to take some time off blogging and figure out the direction you're headed. I personally have had MANY close calls w/ creepers and stalkers the past month from blogging and have wondered why I continue. Just today I announced that I am streamlining my posts b/c after all, it's a Hobby. Not a job. I am sick of working at it like a job and feeling stressed by it! Good for you for figuring out where you're going w/ your own bloggie! Have fun in Seattle!

I will keep coming to your blog not because what you have to say aech and every day but because I think you are a wonderful person and I admire you :) take as much time as you need! we all go through phases! (I don't think I have blogged since last thursday—oops!) hehe xoxox

I started my blog not caring if anyone reads it and i'm still that way. I do this so I know what happened in my life before I get alzheimers.

I like your blog because of the recipes, your smile and your love of fitness. It's always one I click on and don't just skim over in google reader.

Seems like much of the 'blog world' is feeling the same. One thing about it though, it's YOURS and you can do what you wish–of course, we are the ones who lose, but hey, give yourself the time and make the changes you need to…for yourself!
I agree w/ April–I read for the recipes, your dedication (no matter if you're flailing or sailing!) and just your overall personality. I like your honesty and your brevity too–says a lot about your character.

Anyway, enjoy Seattle–my brother and sister in law live there and I love love love that city!! Have fun!!

  6. Have a great time in Seattle. I am heading there at the end of Oct and looking forward to it. If it makes you feel any better, I love reading your blog comp or no comp. I always enjoy your insights and reading about your passion for food, fitness, health, life.

I'm sad to hear your taking a break as I will miss you, but I"m happy your doing what YOU feel is best for you. It can be stressful blogging daily, and when I miss posts from other people, I feel like I have to catch up! Just know I think your SO inspirational and I admire your strength, internal and external! I hope to see you on my blog at least. Take good care of you!
