No not of sugarplums (visions that is).. we’re past that season.. though I did have a wicked desire for a chocolate-dipped chocolate chip cookie today.. I didn’t succumb
(and I’m not sure where even using the term ‘wicked’ came from.. I’m not that cool hehe).
Actually I’m referring to a Vision Board. I made one last summer, but with so many changes, and new goals for the new year.. it was time for an update!
Last time I used a ton of magazine cut-outs and Rubber Cement.. but this time I went with foam board & tacs instead. I love that I can add & subtract as the year evolves.. it just seems appropriate. I remember someone posting their Vision Board last year, but blacking out portions for superstitious reasons. I understand that perspective, but all of these images have many more meanings to me than the obvious.
I suppose someone could look at this, see ‘Best Body Ever’ and assume all sorts of narcassistic things about me.. well first, come on, I don’t think many people out there would start the year thinking ‘I really want to go downhill from here’.. but beyond that it means that to get there, I took care of myself, ate well, worked out hard and everything that comes with it! .. just an example.
And besides, I know this board will look completely different by the end of 2011, and it’ll be fun to compare!
Related, is this fantastic item I got from my Mom for Christmas..
It says: Each thing she learned became part of herself to be used over and over in New Adventures
Isn’t that absolutely perfect in every way?! I love it!
FITNESS
So no success yet on an AM workout (though I’m likely pissing off my neighbors by having alarms going off for 2 hours, whoops), but I’m keeping to ‘no excuses’ and am getting them in at night. Yesterday I went to a new location of the gym chain I joined, and this particular location is Lance Armstrong branded. There is a Bike Chandelier thing (I’ll take a picture at some point), pictures of Lance everywhere and quotes on the walls. The ‘branded’ component is far from subtle, but I actually like some of it.. ya’ll know I’m a sucker for a good motivational quote
NUTRITION
I’m quickly getting back into a meal pattern. Working, or looking for jobs, from home, gives you so many different meal possibilities. But when you’re trying to really keep it on point, I usually find it easier not to have a ton of options, but instead just what I’ve brought that day. Though I’ve also noticed how different my appetite is now.. or more so that I’m not hungry because I’m keeping so darn busy at work, unlike athe age-old problem of eating because I’m bored when stuck at home all day.
Any who, here’s a recent dinner, and flavor combination I love..
A Spinach Bar topped with Slow-Cooker Salsa Chicken, Pico de Gallo, 2 tbsp Guacamole and ~1/3 tbsp Nutritional Yeast..yum!
And on that, it’s now 10:15pm.. time to portion out my meals for tomorrow (I’m that lazy in the morning, that I like to make it so all I have to do is grab’n go!), make sure the coffee pot is ready, and fall asleep to my latest audiobook (new, rather expensive, obsession.. more on that later
). G’night!
